I’m a writer, producer, editor, and digital innovator.
After graduating from UC Berkeley, I started in local news and launched a news site for Patch, a division of AOL. While there I won an award from AOL for being one of the top editors in the nation, and for attracting more visits/month than there were people in my region thanks to my cutting-edge digital strategies. I left in order to shift my focus to endurance and Olympic sports coverage. In 2015, I completed an Annenberg fellowship at USC in sports reporting, where for my thesis I created and coded a choose-your-own-adventure website that allowed users to follow different paths to becoming a pro athlete. My work has appeared in countless publications, including espnW, Outside, Pacific Standard, Competitor, and VICE Sports. I also worked as a producer in news and science for KQED, San Francisco’s NPR station. Before taking over as editor-in-chief at Triathlete, I was known for launching a first-of-its-kind triathlon-related newsletter and podcast, and for providing in-depth coverage of the sport.
