Hey there! I understand this is somewhat off-topic
however I needed to ask. Does building a well-established blog such as
yours take a massive amount work? I’m brand new to operating a blog but I do write in my journal everyday. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share
my own experience and feelings online. Please let me know
if you have any suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners.
Appreciate it!
Hey, so the answer is yes, it’s work if you want to do it well (not that I do it well, but you know more than casually). My understanding from people who like actually make money from their sites/blogs is that they spend 20-30 hrs/week on it — more if it’s part of their whole “brand” and they also do appearances, speeches, sponsor shit, and articles for publications.
I had a blog before that I just sort of updated when I felt like it and didn’t think too hard about what I was going to write and it got like 1/5 of the traffic of this one. This one gets like 1/10th of the traffic or less of the bigger running ones. And, I update it every day and a really detailed or in-depth post can take an hour or more, so, you know. And, in the last month I’ve gotten too busy with work and the blog suffered and I can see it in the drop in traffic, so you kind of have to do it a lot. I think.
